The agreement between your school and Taarifa.

Accounts are issued to a school and administered by staff the school nominates. The school is responsible for keeping credentials confidential and for the actions taken under its accounts.

Parent portal access is granted against a guardian’s registered mobile number.

Subscription fees are quoted per school and confirmed in writing before onboarding. Bulk SMS is charged per message from KSh 1/SMS and drawn from a prepaid balance.

A free branded school website is included with every active subscription. Custom domain registration, where required, is charged at cost.

School fees are paid by parents directly to the school’s own paybill, till, or bank account. Taarifa neither collects nor holds school fees; it records them. Unused prepaid SMS balances remain available while the subscription is active and are not refundable in cash.

SMS may be used only for legitimate school communication. Unsolicited marketing, political messaging, and any content that is unlawful, abusive, or misleading is prohibited and may result in suspension.

Schools must not attempt to access records belonging to another institution, or reverse-engineer or resell the platform.

AI-generated Schemes of Work, lesson plans, rubrics, and draft circulars are decision-support material. Teaching staff remain responsible for reviewing and approving all output before classroom or parent use.

We target continuous availability and provide support Monday to Saturday, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM EAT. Planned maintenance is scheduled outside school hours wherever possible.

Service may be briefly interrupted by factors outside our control, including network, power, or third-party provider outages.

The school owns its learner, staff, and financial records. Taarifa claims no ownership over school content and will export a school’s data on request at the end of the relationship.

Either party may end the subscription with 30 days’ written notice. On termination we provide a data export and then delete the school’s records in line with the Privacy Policy.

To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the subscription fees paid in the preceding 12 months. These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Kenyan courts.
